"The Subcarpathian County Administration helps nearly four thousand people cross the border every day," said Viktor Mikita, head of the administration. According to him, a new wave of refugees is expected in Transcarpathia, as a large number of people have been resettled from the areas of Kiev, Sumy and Kharkiv attacked by the Russians.

Mikita said that they are closely cooperating with the consulates of Hungary, Romania and Slovakia in order to facilitate the departure of Ukrainians from the country, especially with regard to rail transport.

"Citizens coming to us and intending to leave Ukraine are searched. After that, groups are formed and transported by rail to Hungary, to the Záhony railway station. We will also restart train services with Slovakia. I will hold negotiations to resolve the issue," Mikita emphasized.

According to the Suzpilne Zakarpattya news portal, the Slovak side has already declared that it is ready to accept 1,000-1,500 Ukrainian citizens. Discussions with representatives of Romania are also ongoing.

"We can send 3-4 thousand citizens across the border every day, who are also registered. Anyone who wants to can meet them, they also provide accommodation and food. Ukrainians can apply for refugee status in the given country, or they can travel further to other countries of the European Union, where their friends are already waiting for them," informed the head of the county administration.
