Environmentally friendly buses help transport to the settlements around Buda
The increase in the population of the region around Buda is also a challenge for transport; the government is helping to find a solution to the problems by putting 40 comfortable and environmentally friendly buses into service, said Tamás Menczer, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, parliamentary candidate for the 2nd electoral district of Pest county, at a press conference in Budapest on Saturday.
The state secretary responsible for information and the international presentation of Hungary highlighted: the first 10 electric vehicles are already being used by those traveling to Budakeszi; the remaining 30 buses, which have also already arrived, will travel in the direction of Budaörs and Budakeszi.
The planning of the bus lane on the Budakesz route is underway, with the help of which those who choose public transport will be able to gain an hour a day in the event of a traffic jam, he informed.
Balázs Fürjes, State Secretary responsible for the development of Budapest and the capital agglomeration, Member of Parliament, Fidesz candidate for electoral district No. 3 in Budapest, said at the event that the purchase of the 40 buses was 100 percent financed by the government for a total of HUF 8.1 billion.
