The Americans need oil, and since they distanced themselves from Russia, they now have to lobby others. With gasoline prices rising, Joe Biden and members of his administration are reportedly looking for oil in despotic countries such as Venezuela and Saudi Arabia.

"The Biden administration is flirting with lifting oil sanctions on Venezuela to moderate rising oil prices, but at the same time appears unwilling to encourage investment in domestic energy production," Fox News reported .

Meanwhile, Biden's advisers are discussing a possible visit to Saudi Arabia this spring to help repair ties and convince the kingdom to pump more oil, Axios reported.

But a Canadian energy official last week expressed disappointment at the Biden administration's intention to not turn to its northern neighbor, which is among the world's top oil producers.

Alberta Energy Minister Sonya Savage was interviewed by Lisa Fletcher of Washington's WJLA-TV . It's extremely frustrating to see the US government turn to Saudi Arabia while we're right next door,” Savage said.

Since Biden has cut off oil imports from Russia, which account for about 8% of America's daily oil consumption, Savage said Canada could easily provide that amount, offsetting the loss.

Americans are under attack from all sides. According to the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics, the consumer price index rose 7.9% over the past 12 months, a 40-year high.

Our comment : we may be wrong, but we would dare to bet a large amount that during Joe Biden's visit to Europe, he will "encourage" the Union to limit, if not gas deliveries, but Russian oil imports in some form (or completely). We hope not.
