Minister Miklós Kásler nominated Csaba Böjte for the Nobel Peace Prize. More than 2,500 children are cared for in the 26 boarding institutions of the St. Ferenc Foundation of Déva, which he founded.
Brother Csaba Böjte began his priestly service when the Iron Curtain fell. With his now more than 3 decades of humanitarian activity, he has broken down the walls between the nationalities living in Central and Eastern Europe, serving as both an example and a good practice for all of humanity.
In recent decades, it has created a child rescue program that goes beyond ideologies and political interests.
Brother Csaba's philosophy is to introduce Christian principles in embracing the children living there, which go beyond cultural differences and historical contrasts.
Today, the Szent Ferenc Dévai Foundation, founded by brother Csaba Böjte, takes care of more than 2,500 children in 26 residential institutions.
The fruit of his work can be seen not only on an ideological level, but also quantified in action.
With his child rescue mission, Csaba Böjte brought a new perspective to this area, which encourages the people living there to live peacefully side by side.
And as a measurable result of the human lives saved, I think, as the fruit of his decades of work, he deserves this year's Nobel Peace Prize!
