5,163 people entered the territory of Hungary on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border section on Sunday, and 5,076 of those who entered the Romanian-Hungarian border section declared that they came from Ukraine, the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) told MTI on Monday.

Among those admitted, the police issued temporary residence certificates to 305 people, which are valid for 30 days. They must visit the competent office of the National Directorate General of Immigration for their place of residence to obtain the final documents, the police wrote.

Before the war in Ukraine, 280 people, including 98 children, arrived in Budapest by train on Sunday.

The Budapest Police Headquarters announced on police.hu on Monday that it is helping refugees arriving by train from Ukraine with the Emergency Police and those participating in police patrol training. The Budapest Civil Guard Association also provides support in the tasks.

The police are in constant contact with the National Directorate General of Disaster Prevention, the National Directorate General of Immigration, the Hungarian State Railways Ltd., the Budapest Transport Center, the Police Directorate of the Metropolitan Municipality, the Government Office of the Capital City of Budapest, as well as the staff of the aid organizations, the announcement states.
