On Saturday evening, in the Carpathian Basin and almost everywhere in the world where Hungarians live, the Fire of Our Togetherness was lit again. The initiative was launched two years ago, on the centenary of the signing of the Trianon peace decree, but last year and the year before last, due to epidemic restrictions, they were still unable to join in many places. This year there were no such obstacles.

They prepared almost two-meter-high carvings on Nagykapos in the highlands to light the fire of our Unity. Everyone who feels Hungarian at heart was invited to the event. The organizers want it to become a tradition in the settlement to light a fire on the fourth of June.

At the same time, there was also a fire in Oromo in Vojvodina. Locals lit it on Saturday night at exactly 8:22 p.m.

every year more and more young people in the village consider it important to participate in such programs.

In Demeterfalva in Transylvania, a fire was lit on the hill above the village. The locals joined the initiative two years ago, on the centenary of the signing of the Trianon peace decree.

In one of the Hungarian communities living farthest from the motherland, in the garden of the Hungarian House in Brisbane, Australia, Hungarian families gathered to light the Fire of Belonging.

On the 102nd anniversary of Trianon, a service was also held in the Church of Unity,

where the ambassador of Hungary emphasized the preservation of tradition and its will.

“A lot has happened since Trianon. We put the torn country together somewhere. We have built bridges with Hungary in the countries of the Carpathian Basin, and now Hungary's will also reaches the distant diaspora, and the will is mutual. After all, they also want to have as close a relationship as possible with Hungary," said István Mikola.

In Hungary, young people from Esztergom lit fires on the Danube,

scout troop number 14 pulled the loaded bonfire in with a canoe.

Meanwhile, in Tata, at the foot of Kálvária hill, a fire commemoration was held.

This year, these are not only the fires of togetherness, but also of peace. With flames flaring up all over the world at the same time, the organizers are also standing up for stopping the war raging in Ukraine.

In recent years, more than 2,500 settlements in 73 countries on six continents and their Hungarian communities have joined the Fire of Our Togetherness program.
