A strong Hungary is the solid foundation of a secure national policy - declared János Árpád Potápi, the State Secretary responsible for national policy at the Prime Minister's Office, in Szeps in the highlands, where he gave a speech on Wednesday at the ceremonial handover of the Boldog Sára Salkaházi Church School Center, built with the support of the Hungarian government.
The school center established in Szepsi in eastern Slovakia has been the largest Hungarian educational investment in the wider region for decades. At the handover of the institution, which includes a kindergarten, elementary school and high school, János Árpád Potápi spoke about the past years of the Hungarian government's national policy, the strengthening of the Hungarian institutional system, and the need to continue the ongoing construction.
"In the past decade, we have shown that active cooperation binds the community of our nation together: we strengthened the Hungarian institutional system, we take care of everyone from families with small children to the elderly, we acted together for the sustaining homeland, which today is the home of Hungarian prosperity," stated János Árpád Potápi.
He pointed out: in the past period, the Hungarian government has increased the amount of general government resources for national policy tenfold, while in 2009 only 9 billion forints were available to support Hungarians abroad, this amount has already exceeded 100 billion forints for years.
The State Secretary for National Policy said:
The recently handed over school center and other similar investments are also examples of the joint construction of the Hungarian nation, which sends the message that "we, Hungarians, no matter how hopeless our situation is, we never give up the fight for our cause, we strive for the best in the fight."
He emphasized: a strong Hungary is the solid foundation of a secure national policy, so joint work must be continued!
The project of Boldog Salkaházi Sára Church School Center, which has just been handed over, dates back to 2013, when the Catholic Church, local Hungarian parents and teachers, Hungarian civil society organizations came together to maintain higher quality education, Hungarian and Christian values, and the Hungarian community of the Bódva Valley. they proposed the establishment of a church school with a Hungarian language of instruction.
The Hungarian government promised and provided support for the construction of the school center, and the foundation responsible for its implementation received HUF 2.88 billion in support from 2015 to 2021.
The school center currently has 2 kindergarten groups with 47 kindergarteners, 136 students attend the elementary school, and 50 students attend the high school.
