The Pest County Election Committee took action because of a portal that spends hundreds of millions advertising the posts of left-wing politicians, including Péter Márki-Zay.

Rebeka Szabó, a politician from Párbeszéd, violated the law on the electoral procedure, the Pest County Individual Constituency Election Committee No. 10 stated in its first instance decision. According to the decision learned by Mandiner, a private individual filed a complaint with the board, objecting that the individual parliamentary candidate of the six-party alliance involved an external financier, apparently independent of him, to cover his campaign expenses

with the fact that the ads on his Facebook page are financed by kormanytvaltok.hu. According to the point of view of the objector, the portal is not the candidate itself, nor is it considered a registered nominating organization.

Sharing this position, the election committee came to the conclusion that Rebeka Szabó went against the provisions of the relevant legislation. The law clearly provides for the protection of the integrity of the election, the provision of equal opportunities between the candidates and the nominating organizations, and defines the basic principles of the exercise of law in good faith and in accordance with its intended purpose. The committee banned both the candidate and the portal from further violations of the law - although those involved can still appeal, they have three days to do so.

The essence of the violation is that campaign activities can only be financed by the candidate or the organization that nominates him, in this case the party association for Unity in Hungary. If a third party does it, moreover, from an unclear source, it violates the law on the electoral procedure. In this case, this was demonstrably the case.

The piquancy of the matter is that Rebeka Szabó is not alone with this solution, in fact! To our knowledge, the

kormanytvaltok.hu has been operating since February of this year, as a website without an imprint, on which nothing else can be found other than a text full of spelling errors, encouraging people to vote for the left-wing coalition in the April 3 election.

Just like on the Facebook page connected to the website, which, in addition to Rebeka Szabó, financed the advertising of the posts of several left-wing politicians running under the logo of Unity for Hungary.

Among them is Péter Márki-Zay himself, on whom, according to our information, HUF 62 million have been spent so far.

The ads of the Hódmezővásárhely mayor were the only ones advertised in the past period, but the mysterious medium allocated a total of about 200 million for left-wing political propaganda, which is considered a very significant amount. The owner's background of the portal and thus the source of the support are also unknown.

Nevertheless, if a violation of the law has been established in the case of Rebeka Szabó, deputy mayor of Zugló, who ran in place of Mihály Gér, who failed due to her unsympathetic and insulting comments, then this could, in principle, happen in the same way with MZP.
