HVG and Telex have switched to campaign mode and they no longer shy away from falsifying the words of foreign politicians about Hungary.
This time, the words of the President of the Republic of Poland were translated so that Andrzej Duda said the exact opposite of what the Polish politician actually said.
Polish President Andrzej Duda gave an interview to TVN24 television , in which Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Hungary were also discussed. In the conversation, Duda said that he understands the basis of Viktor Orbán's policy, since the main reference point for this is the situation in which Hungary found itself, and he also explained that the Hungarian Prime Minister is in a difficult situation, since
"He was NOT the one who made the Hungarian state so dependent on Russia for gas and electricity supply".
Compared to this, Duda's words appeared on the HVG website as saying that, according to the Polish president, Viktor Orbán was the one who made Hungary dependent on Russian energy. Telex joined this within an hour, practically taking over HVG's writing verbatim.
The falsification of Duda's words by HVG and Telex is also puzzling because other left-wing organs - such as 168 hours or ATV - managed to publish what the Polish president really said.
In the interview, Andrzej Duda also talked about how
"energy dependence on Russia is a problem for many EU countries, which is why no sanctions have been introduced for the purchase of fuel and energy carriers".
