Csaba Tordai, involved in the micro-donation scandal, is one of the 42 people who act as consultants at the City Hall. Based on the published data, as Gergely Karácsony's chief legal advisor, Tordai can earn more than one million a month, and that's not all.

Magyar Nemzet, the chief legal adviser of Gergely Karácsony, involved in the scandal, Csaba Tordai, may have cost taxpayers more than fifty million so far. He is the lawyer whose law office was searched by the tax office investigating the suspected criminal fundraising of the Karácsony 99 Movement at the beginning of November.

At the beginning of the year, 42 local government advisers worked in the capital: 16 as chief advisers with special responsibilities, 26 as advisers. The lowest salary is HUF 200,000 gross per month, the highest is HUF 1.35 million. It does not seem an unfounded assumption that he plays a key role in the operation of the City Hall

Tordai's allowance is close to the maximum, which means that the chief lawyer of the municipality can earn well over HUF one million.

The data made public by the City Hall show that the combined wage costs of consultants and chief consultants were also very substantial in recent years. In 2020, these people cost 26 million gross each month, and 34-35 million in the last three years. In other words, since 2019, the capital city, or more specifically the community of taxpayers, spends HUF 300-400 million annually on City Hall consultants.

However, the City Hall also receives fringe benefits, based on various legal titles. An example of this is the Budapest supplement, which can amount from 60 percent to 160 percent of the salary of the person concerned. According to the calculations of the Tűzfal Group, the benefits may exceed HUF two million per year.
