The Hungarian left has failed miserably, the information published in the press corresponds to reality, according to which there is continuous consultation between them and representatives of the Ukrainian government
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stated in a video published on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
Logging in from the government meeting, the head of the ministry explained: the assessment of the situation related to the war taking place in the neighborhood was the main item on the agenda.
He recalled that
A few days ago, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called the Ambassador of Ukraine in Budapest "to consult about the possibility of influencing the Hungarian election results".
He added: the information published in the press corresponds to reality.
He believed
"with this, the Hungarian left failed miserably", that there is continuous consultation between the representatives of the Hungarian left and the Ukrainian government. The Hungarian left promised that if they were to govern, they would immediately decide on the delivery of weapons to Ukraine and immediately vote for the sanction of crude oil and natural gas deliveries to Europe, including Hungary.
Péter Szijjártó said: they are closely following the international statements of the Ukrainian president, which clearly confirm the fact of these negotiations and consultations. The Ukrainian president constantly attacks Hungary, the Hungarian government, because "we decided not to deliver weapons to Ukraine for the safety of the Hungarian people and not to vote for sanctions that threaten the security of our energy supply," he explained.
He sees that what the Ukrainian president is saying is understandable from his point of view, since it would be in Ukraine's interest that as many European countries as possible, including Hungary, deliver weapons and vote for sanctions on crude oil and natural gas shipments, but this is completely against Hungary's interests .
The Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted:
Hungarian politicians must represent Hungary's interest, and Hungary's interest is clearly to "stay out of this war". And in order to do this, it is necessary to prevent them from "in any way provoking, dragging us into this war"
He emphasized:
it is necessary to prevent Hungarian people from being put in danger, it is necessary to prevent the Hungarian economy from being threatened by a shutdown, therefore we must continue to stick to the decision not to deliver weapons to Ukraine and not to support sanctions on energy supplies. "As long as we govern, these decisions will of course remain in force"
According to Péter Szijjártó, the situation is clear:
"negotiations are ongoing between the Hungarian left and the Ukrainians", and if the Hungarian left came to power, they would immediately start the arms deliveries, and they would immediately vote for sanctions on the transportation of crude oil and natural gas. But "as long as we govern, Hungary will stay out of this war," he said. He added: they will not allow the Hungarian people to pay the price of the war.
On April 3, the Hungarian people can decide on peace and security or drifting into war , said Péter Szijjártó.
