I still belong to the generation that enjoyed the unity of all classes and strata of Hungarian society at the elections. We owe this to the communists, more precisely to the Patriotic People's Front they created.
In this alliance, the mass organizations (created by them) lined up behind the MSZMP. There was no hate campaign, or even a campaign, because there was no need. There were no parties, it was a united front! There was only one candidate's name on the ballot, there was no need to hesitate, the ballot simply had to be thrown into the ballot box. When the Kádár system felt stable enough, it was possible to choose between two candidates instead of one. Of course, they were also nominated by the Socialist National Unity Front. The nomination took place very democratically, a person outside the party could also be nominated, the only condition was that the person accepts the program of the Patriotic People's Front.
Even the most cheerful world outside the barracks marveled at this disciplined unit, with a 98 percent turnout, 99 percent voted for the People's Front candidates. Participation was only recommended, democratically, but anyone would have tried to stay out and be individual! They went after him, took him to the polls, and later banned him because he was an enemy of the people. After the regime change , the Patriotic People's Front ceased to exist, and the Democratic Coalition (!) became its legal successor.
In short, there is a tradition of united front cooperation on the left. I've been thinking about this for over a year now, when the six opposition parties - from the fascists to the communists - created their cooperation agreement on the joint list and the joint candidates. The parties' agreement was well prepared by the Idea Institute's research, according to which nearly three-quarters of non-government voters support the joint opposition list and running with joint opposition representative candidates. Idea measures its research on the ground of liberal democracy, and according to their own credo, they do not follow the command of objectivity.
At the end of 2020, they intended this alliance based on Orbán hatred as a Christmas present for themselves. The news then spread across Europe, finally, finally, there is a chance Viktor Orbán ! The Western media welcomed the great political act and ranked the democratic, sub-threshold parties as if they represented broad sections of society (meaning the People's Front), even though this could only have been blamed on Jobbik. They slipped past them, or were referred to as a right-wing people's party. And the construction and support of the new Hungarian People's Front, the opposition coalition, began in the advanced world.
We were a bit skeptical about what would come out of this. New people, new politics? Because the old faces appeared everywhere, just like after the mayoral election. These faces really want to get back to the fat bucket hiding the money, from which they have been banished for 12 years now. Twelve years could have been enough to build a party, build a mass base, educate political successors and develop a full-scale government program. To achieve authenticity. Instead, the comrades resorted to illegality and bit each other. The MSZP reduced itself to immeasurably zero, Jobbik fell into several pieces, and the LMP, founded as the hope of many, ended up in the sink together with its successor parties. It soon became clear how much Momentum was worth. Only DK is alive and well, although they cannot produce a credible politician from among themselves. If it weren't for the collaboration, most of them wouldn't even get into the Parliament.
That's why the collaboration, the joint list making, was a gift to each other. What matters to them is not the party or their voters, but their own livelihood, which they thank their supporters of a similar moral standard with parliamentary performances.
Let's moralize a little! Sometimes I toy with the idea of what it would be like to be a committed right-wing voter. In my district, I should vote for the chubby momentary, who is also at war with the accounting of education, because this is how my party agreed in the People's Front. For a moment, he destroyed the dream of my life, the possibility of hosting the Budapest Olympics. Or would I be an ancient leftist, committed to the Socialist Party, and now, because the Party wants me to, vote for an extreme rightist? Let's not even talk about the party list of the coalition! I know, it was a series of bargains, a long and cruel fight for places, and looking at the order, I would not like to see many of their faces in Parliament.
At home, we talk about livelihood politicians, but in the West, in developed democracies, they see it differently. Because that's where the deception of voters really takes place! - says my German acquaintance, who voted for the liberals. They deceived their voters and entered into a coalition with the Greens and the Socialists, and now they are playing politics in the Bundestag, abandoning their principles. How much more beautiful is this New Hungarian model, given what we can expect. Not much good.
Their blue-ribbon prime ministerial candidate is almost the only new face on the opposition side. This is also indicative. In the fall, he was the only person who was little known in national politics, so he was able to make people believe in things and values that unite the right-wing camp. He even believed himself to be the Hungarian Messiah. Through it, you can see that the opposition has no program, because if there was, the candidate would not talk back and forth, but would travel the country knowing and presenting the common program. The program today is to replace Fidesz, replace the government, accountability, prison, because their voters expect this from them instead of responsible governance. A promise driven by hate.
The wearer and supporters of the blue ribbon announcing the fight against corruption are not at all bothered by corruption scandals. Katalin Cseh's multibillion-dollar corruption scandal, the confusion surrounding the sale of the City Hall and the parking scandal in Zugló do not reach stimulus thresholds Csaba Czeglédi, who has also been in prison, is not bothered by the budget and other billion-dollar frauds, since he starts on the same list as those involved. On the list of corruption "Unity for Hungary".
When I think of the blue ribbon in a political environment, I think of the blue card. That certain rigged election in 1947, when brainwashed young people and more mature comrades, inspired by the promise of freedom and brainwashed by agitators, turned up on a beautiful late summer day to cast their votes again and again in possession of the blue identification card, walking through the "wobbly districts" on the flatbed of trucks. . To this day, it is not known how many fraudulent votes and other irregularities brought about the victory of the Communist Party. For example, "reactionaries" or half a million voters were forgotten from the voter register, and some right-wing politicians were deprived of the right to vote. At that time, there was no OSCE, the integrity of the elections was overseen by the Ministry of the Interior under the control of the Soviet comrades stationed here and the Communists, personally supervised by Minister László Rajk They did not see any irregularities, because everything was going according to the preliminary plans.
We do not know the details of the great power plan prepared for the current election, only the intention: to oust Viktor Orbán from power and to help the corrupt, organized opposition, who will dance to the whistle of Brussels, to power at any cost. If necessary, a battle dance, if necessary self-surrender, selling out, whatever the customer wants. They float the suspected election abuses well in advance, send their blue-label lawyers here, who will report as expected.
You have to be smart. Now it's not enough to be decent, now you have to look it.
