With the support of the Hungarian government, the Hungarian community in Vojvodina has found itself in a completely new situation, and the Hungarian government's stated intention is to continue this program, and for this it is necessary that the government receives the confidence to continue on April 3, emphasized Levente Magyar, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Affairs in Subotica.

Since 2016, the Vojvodina economic development program has supported more than 14,000 applicants in Vojvodina, most of them in the field of agriculture, but also in the fields of industry and information technology. As he said: more than HUF 120 billion in investments were realized in six years. Viktor Orbán receives confidence again on April 3 The goal is to strengthen and deepen the relationship between Hungary and Serbia, thereby widening the scope of movement of Hungarians in Vojvodina.

If the Hungarian government remains, and the Serbian citizens also decide that the current Serbian government will continue its work after April 3, then the Hungarians in Vojvodina, as well as the relationship between Serbia and Hungary, will face further development - underlined the state secretary.

István Pásztor , the president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association (VMSZ), pointed out that the Vojvodina economic development program created the opportunity for people to prosper as Hungarians in their homeland. The Vojvodina Hungarians did not isolate themselves, but created their own world by cooperating with the majority nation. The president of the largest Hungarian party in the south also expressed his hope and confidence that the good relationship between Serbia and Hungary, as well as the Vojvodina Hungarians and the motherland, will continue even after the elections in Serbia and Hungary on April 3.

Budapest initially allocated HUF 50 billion for the first phase of the Vojvodina economic development program, 2016-2018, but later the budget was increased. In the program, the greatest emphasis was placed on agriculture, tourism, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, the goal was to stop the migration of young people abroad and to reverse the process. The second phase of the economic development program started in 2019. The goal is for people to thrive in their homeland and to reduce emigration.
