The Ministry of the Interior responded to the petition of Izsák Balázs, the president of the Székely National Council (SZNT), in which they admit that the Romanian police followed him on September 19, and state that "preventing negative events, maintaining public order and public safety was the task of the Hargita county police ".

As reported by Izsák Balázs in Székelyhon, it was revealed to the public in October that on September 19, a police car and another unmarked car followed them when they were driving on the Székely carriage road in Makfalv, sought out mayors, and consulted with the residents about the future of Székelyföld.

The president of the SZNT assessed that it was probably followed in a striking manner with the intention of intimidation, so he informed Interior Minister Lucian Bode and asked for an explanation of what happened. The response letter from the Inspector General of the Ministry of the Interior was received on November 2, Balázs Izsák informs in his statement on Tuesday. It also encloses the response letter from the Ministry of the Interior, according to which the Székelykeresztúr police acted legally and in accordance with the law, in order to prevent negative events and ensure public order and public safety along the route suggested by the SZNT. They also point out that the other car is not part of the police. Izsák Balázs pointed out: in his submission, he also asked whether the strategy for maintaining public order classifies the drive for autonomy as a criminal phenomenon, but he did not receive an answer. In the letter addressed to the Minister of the Interior of Romania, several incidents are mentioned which aim at harassing the members of the European citizens' initiative launched for the national regions.)

"It has become clear that the corrupt Romanian state does not take the decisions of the European Court of Justice into account and uses other means, which are not characteristic of the rule of law, to discourage the initiators from their goals. We intend to compile a detailed document on this and inform the institutions of the European Union about it," says Izsák Balázs.
