Matteo Salvini, the president of the Italian right-wing government party League, congratulated Viktor Orbán and the Hungarian people on the results of the parliamentary election, who was the first to post a message on his social media late Sunday night.
Matteo Salvini's post began: "Bravo, Viktor!"
The leader of the League wrote, "Alone against everyone, while left-wing fanatics of like-mindedness attacked, threatened those who wanted to erase Europe's Judeo-Christian roots, looked down upon by those who want to abolish the family, security, merit, development, solidarity, sovereignty and the values of freedom, you won again thanks to what the others lack: the love and support of the people".
Matteo Salvini ended his message by saying, "Go on, Viktor, respect the free Hungarian people!"
He also attached an earlier picture showing a handshake between Matteo Salvini and Viktor Orbán.
The League party announced that Matteo Salvini sent a special message to Viktor Orbán, in which he also congratulated him on his victory.
