"It is a great honor to be able to officially present the award. He is a role model for all of us, because of him many thousands of children started playing sports. It is also thanks to him that our society is healthier. It's fantastic that an athlete can still be so active at 101 years old, and we can actually learn from him even now. It's great to be here in his company, he should stay with us for a very long time," Tünde Szabó told MTI.
The state secretary also reported that the legendary athlete was in a very good mood and liked the award very much.
Ágnes Keleti won the gold medal on the floor at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, and four years later she defended her title in Melbourne, and won on beam, half beam and as a member of the apparatus team.
