A theater group in the UK believes the best way to teach children about sex is to strip naked on stage in front of the children and their parents.
In a trailer released by The Guardian, the production company said the show deliberately only discusses the positives of sex and relationships.
The channel praises its progressive approach to the topic of sexual education.
Before listing pronouns and describing her physical appearance to blind viewers, the Tobacco Factory Theaters artistic director says her company is helping to bring The Family Sex Show to Bristol in May. Then, in the video, the speaker switches to ThisEgg's art director, Josie, who uses the pronouns "she" and "her." He describes what he looks like before introducing himself as someone who has been producing The Family Sex Show for a few years now. It makes clear to viewers that the core of the group's controversial show is "open conversations" surrounding the topic of sex education.
In other words: The purpose of the Family Sex Show is to talk about sexually explicit topics to young people.
"We're hoping that the show is kind of an addition to the more creative or alternative relationship and sex education that's out there in all kinds of ways right now, and I think we really wanted to make a show that we wanted when we were younger and a part of our adult selves felt like , or feel that they still need it now, and especially if we know our bodies, then we know our rights," said one of the directors.
According to a manager at Tobacco Factory Theatres
the presentation about sex is for adults, but also for children "5 years old and over 5 years old".
