At the commemoration, the Rákóczi Association will honor the 80 Hungarian-inhabited settlements in Slovakia, where the number and ratio of Hungarians has increased in the last ten years, according to the censuses.

According to the unanimous decision of the Hungarian Parliament, April 12 is the day of remembrance for Hungarians displaced from the Highlands since 2012. The Rákóczi Association considers it important to commemorate the more than 100,000 Hungarians who were forced to leave their homeland as a result of the Beneš decrees, deprived of their citizenship, community, and property.

75 years ago, on April 12, 1947, the first train from Czechoslovakia with the displaced people left for Hungary.

The Rákóczi Association commemorates on April 12 in Budapest on a Danube event boat from 5 p.m.

Gergely Gulyás, Minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office, and Miklós Duray, a public figure from the Highlands, will give speeches at the event.
