Hungarians in Transylvania and beyond the border consider the national policy of the last decade to be correct, this is confirmed by the votes of foreigners - Kelemen Hunor, president of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (RMDSZ) told the Hungarian Nation.

According to the Tuesday issue of the daily, Kelemen Hunor said: In Transylvania, the number of postal votes increased by twenty-four percent compared to the elections four years ago, and the number of those who exercised their right to vote at the consulates also increased.

As he said, this means that the interest in the measurement in Hungary has increased, which he considers to be a good sign. Transylvanian Hungarians who also hold Hungarian citizenship could express their opinion with their vote on the kind of relationship the Hungarian government has nurtured and built with the communities across the border, stated the head of the RMDSZ.

According to Kelemen Hunor, the almost ninety-four percent foreign support of Fidesz-KDNP confirms that the national political turn and paradigm shift that took place in the last decade is considered correct by Hungarians across the border.

As he said, he is thinking of the types of elements that cannot be described with money: the possibility of dual citizenship, solidarity, the feeling of belonging. These are more related to emotions, they speak to the heart. The Hungarian opposition probably did not understand this and does not understand this, said the RMDSZ president.

He added: the two-thirds victory is important, as it gives great legitimacy in a difficult period.

Kelemen Hunor opined about the Hungarian-Romanian interstate relationship: he sees a good chance that, after the new Hungarian government is formed, another impetus can be given to bilateral relations. This is generally useful for both parties, but it is especially so now, as there is a war in our neighborhood, and everything will change around us in the coming years, said the president.
