Olaf Scholz confirmed that Germany rejects the planned gas embargo against Russia by the European Union.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised that weapons will continue to be delivered to Ukraine. At the same time, he made it clear that Germany's goal was to avoid an open, armed conflict with the Russians. He announced that they would also like to conclude a German-Slovenian military agreement, reports Bloomberg.

“We must do everything to avoid a direct military confrontation between NATO and a heavily armed superpower like Russia, which is also a nuclear power. I will do everything in order to avoid the escalation of an armed conflict that could lead to the third world war - there can be no nuclear war"

Scholz told Der Spiegel magazine on Friday.

Olaf Scholz also confirmed that Germany rejects the gas embargo against Russia planned by the European Union. He then added that such a move would not end the war in Ukraine anyway, but would cause a dramatic economic crisis in Europe, leading to the loss of millions of jobs.
