Three choirs gave a joint concert to glorify God in the Roman Catholic church in Ipolyság. The church music choir festival was organized by the Amicorum Mixed Faculty in Tesmag on the occasion of April 23 with the intention of creating tradition.
"With the festival, Amicorum is not only celebrating the anniversary of its existence, but also the transfer of the values of church music to the public"
- they said during the greeting. As they added: the festival is also a great stage for cultivating friendships and exchanging ideas.
"We glorify God with the love of music," was said in the church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary.
Sancta Maria Choir from Somorja performed first. The choir has served in the Catholic church in Somorja for more than a quarter of a century. In addition to old church music, their repertoire also includes more modern praise songs. In addition to Hungarian, they also sing in Slovak and English.
Second, the Zamárdi Women's Faculty, founded in 2005, gave a short program. They have been friends with the host choir from Tesmag for a long time. The Zamárd Women's Faculty has received numerous awards in recent years. Their repertoire ranges from medieval songs to light music arrangements. The Balaton-Vidék women's choir has already performed in the Highlands several times. In addition to Borsi, he gave a concert in Ipolyvisk, for example.
The Amicorum Mixed Faculty was founded in 2015 at Tesmag, which belongs to Ipolyság. The founding organist is Szabina Balázs Szabó. Among the choir members, in addition to local people, there are also people from many settlements in the Ipoly region. As mentioned, the choir soon became the choir of the local deanery.
Their repertoire mainly includes works of church music, but they do not shy away from lighter genres either. They perform at cultural events, village days, festivals, and church holidays in the surrounding villages.
Despite the short time that has passed since their establishment, they have successfully participated in several competitions. In addition to choir festivals, they were also successful at the Kodály Days in Galanta. As a church music choir, they participated in the closing mass of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress organized in Budapest last September.
