The West reacts to the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war with indignation and sanctions. He talks about violations of territorial integrity, war crimes, atrocities against civilians, rape of women. Primarily about the crimes of the Russians.

It is a great pity that they were not so decisive and condemning at the time, when during the Second World War, as an ally of the Westerners, the soldiers of the Soviet army raped Hungarian, Romanian, Polish, and German women, without any consequences.

When Poland, which had been protected from German imperial aspirations - and the whole of Eastern and Central Europe - was handed over in Yalta to another great power, which in its ideology, methods and destructions did not differ in any way from the vanquished one. When the guys from Pest fought against foreign tanks trampling their own land, no one sent them weapons, and they didn't ban Tchaikovsky from the concert halls.

The one-time globalists, who long ago greeted the Soviet occupation with a hosanna, now explain why they have to throw everything aside and join the war on the side of the Ukrainians with the long-term Russian danger.

However, the historical situation changed in the meantime; if the Turks attacked Bulgaria, would we supply weapons to the Bulgarians on the grounds that the Turks might not stop as far as Buda?

Finally, a nice example of apparent truths: according to Mária Vásárhelyi, no one appreciated enough the great gesture with which Gyurcsány and Bajnai performed the prime minister's duties for a symbolic HUF 1. With this, they did not so much declare their altruism, but rather that they do not need the small change that the Hungarian Prime Minister receives. They could have carried out their activities solely for the good of the country, but, as we have seen, they had little to do with that. So what kind of benefit did they hope for? Obviously, they took a bigger cut from the ancillary stuff.

I think it sends the wrong message when a prime minister says he doesn't need a salary. Moreover, knowing how Ferenc Gyurcsány acquired his wealth. (Explanation: thanks to his political and family connections.) Maybe he already took on the KISZ secretariat in social work because he knew he could bring in billions in another way?

But it is also possible that behind the one-forint wage was the insight: their work is worth that much. If so, I will follow them because it is truly just.
