The Romanian Association of Hungarian Teachers (RMPSZ) celebrated its 30th anniversary in Marosvásárhely. At the event held on Saturday in the Great Hall of the Palace of Culture, in addition to Hungarian teachers from Romania, politicians and invited guests from Hungary, representatives of the Carpathian basin's co-educational organizations were also present.

The festive event began with the singing of the National Anthem and the presentation and inauguration of the RMPSZ flag. In the coat of arms, in the blue field of the triangular shield, a black eagle standing on three closed books, turned right, holds a silver goose feather in its raised right leg, above which is a golden sun and a growing silver crescent moon. In his celebratory speech Burus-Siklódi Botond said that the 30th anniversary should have been celebrated in 2021, but due to the epidemic, it was postponed so that they could celebrate in close proximity, side by side. But one of the difficulties was barely able to breathe, another dark cloud fell over the Carpathian basin, the war, when the lives of the Hungarians of the Carpathians were in danger. But the Hungarian teaching community, including the Transylvanian ones, moved as one to "ease the suffering of our compatriots by standing by them in difficult times," said the president.

In his assessment of the past thirty years, Botond Burus-Siklódi said that the basic principles of the association were defined by quality, credibility and honesty when it was founded, and they stuck to these values ​​all the way. The RMPSZ president is the Marosvásárhely II. He also touched on the situation of the Roman Catholic Theological High School Ferenc Rákóczi, emphasizing that they have undertaken solidarity and drafted a statement that can be signed by anyone who agrees with it.

Zoltán Soós, the mayor of Marosvásárhely, in his welcome speech, called that of teachers one of the noblest professions, who shape the minds and souls of children and set an example with their actions. You are not only the protagonists of today, but also of everyday life - said the head, emphasizing that mother tongue education had to be fought for in Marosvásárhely , and when everything seemed to be going well, then "lightning struck". But we must not let them deprive us of our basic rights , he said.

Péter Szilágyi, ministerial commissioner of the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office, said that a teacher is a parent instead of a parent, a psychologist who nurtures souls, and an organizer of life-long trips. He expressed his gratitude for the fact that, a hundred years after Trianon, there is still Hungarian mother-tongue education in the Carpathian Basin. "Together with Árpád Potápi, we are grateful for the ten years of joint work, the pledge of our future is in your hands, " he emphasized, then handed over a certificate Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén János Árpád Potápi , which was accepted by Botond Burus-Siklódi.
