The city of Munich published a job advertisement a month after masses of enlightened voters filled the ballot paper with drawings in protest at the Hungarian referendum, saying what a ridiculous suggestion that anyone would want to forcibly transplant kindergarteners (I offer a plush glitter pony to the person who quotes which question asked this) .
"Enrich the provincial capital of Munich as a (male/female/diverse) LGBTIQ+ coordinator* responsible for kindergartens and nurseries!" - says the call , according to which the city offers an indefinite part-time job to an experienced gender specialist of any gender. The task will be to “professionally manage the theme of LGBTIQ+ within childcare facilities” and, among other things, network and collect data, in addition to “advancing equality for young children in an LGBTIQ+ context”.
Unfortunately, the tasks are not explained in more detail, although it would be interesting to know how we envision, for example, data collection.
The non-binary LGBTIQ coordinator squats next to little Maximilianka and says, Maxi, how do you identify yourself: are you gay, bisexual or queer, or are you cis?
(Out of a hundred children, how many would be confused and how many would be confirmed by such a question?) Or should the nannies submit an annual report to the office on the number of potential transgenders in the Csillag group based on the observations during the round games?
In any case, the common argument that the goal here is only a general and at the same time harmless sensitization to otherness will definitely be overturned - because if I want to sensitize you to all otherness, then I will not appoint a separate gender coordinator. Or at least I will appoint at least one physique coordinator who is responsible for the well-being of children with a body mass index different from the average in kindergarten, especially with regard to the frequent unpopularity of chubby children and the possible failures of skinny, weak children on the soccer field. However, there is strangely no sign of such a job offer.
As well as the argument that little ones are only informed about the diversity of genders in order for them to recognize their own identity (much later) in the given case, the argument also fails.
Different character traits and cultural customs are also discussed in kindergartens, but for some reason Munich does not consider it necessary to employ a character or customs coordinator.
It's a good thing, because why should we "build a network" and "develop strategies" in this regard? Therefore, if, in relation to the topic of "LMBTIQ+", a salary of 2,200-3,100 euros per month is allocated from the taxpayers' money (for 20 hours of work per week), perhaps we can conclude that it is far from simple information dissemination.
