He also said that the strategic independence of the EU must be further strengthened, because the epidemic and the war showed Europe's vulnerability and the resulting risks.
According to Macron, the task of the next few weeks is to define the basic conditions, in which you have to be brave and free, and they can put the topic on the agenda at the EU summit in June. Among the amendments, the French president mentioned changing the EP election rules and the introduction of transnational lists, as well as the codification of the European Parliament's right to initiate legislation.

In our opinion, this is yet another – otherwise very transparent – attempt to create the United States of Europe and to limit to the extreme the dissenting opinion of the nation states and their right to have a say in any matter. The intention to introduce "transnational lists" is also about the same. In short, they will look at us as stupid again, but they will find out again that we are not.
