As part of the National Castle Program, the construction stage of the renovation of the Széchenyi Castle in Nagycenk has been completed, the Eszterháza Cultural, Research and Festival Center Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft. announced on Tuesday.
The development, which is part of the National Castle Program and the National Castle Program, will be implemented by this autumn from more than 2 billion 844 million forints, partly with EU support and partly from domestic sources.
The primary goal of the development of the castle for tourism purposes is to
a worthy national memorial site may be created as the legacy of count István Széchenyi. During the reconstruction works, the Old Castle, the Széchenyi Wing, the Flower House, the Pandúr Houses, and the castle park were renewed.
In the building of the Old Castle, mechanical and electrical systems were renovated and a fire protection system was built. In the Széchenyi wing, the service rooms that were installed afterwards were demolished. On the ground floor, there was a children's activity center, and in the southern tract, offices, warehouses, staff rooms, a server center and the room of the security service were created.
In addition to the modernization of the service units and water blocks of the Flower House, the original space with large glass surfaces was preserved,
which is suitable for organizing events and exhibitions. The construction and execution tasks of the buildings and the castle park were carried out by the joint consortium of Fertődi Építő és Szolgáltató Zrt. and ZÁÉV Zrt.
According to the announcement, the former castle of Count István Széchenyi is one of the outstanding, emblematic values of our country in the sense of national history, and since the time of Széchenyi, there has been no such development in the castle complex. The foundation stone of the investment was laid in January 2021.
