The female representatives of Fidesz and the KDNP faction condemned all forms of harassment in a joint statement on Friday and made it known that they consider the way the Jobbik leadership is handling the case of sexual harassment in the opposition party to be unacceptable.
The governing parties consider the handling of the sexual harassment case in Jobbik unacceptable. They referred to the fact that a Jobbik politician had allegedly sexually harassed a member of the party's staff.
The announcement (signed by Mónika Dunai, Gabriella Selmeczi, Eszter Vitályos, Mónika Bartos, Katalin Csöbör, Judit Bertalan Czunyiné, Boglárka Illés, Mária Kállai, Zsófia Koncz, Márta Mátrai, Ágnes Molnár, Tünde Szabó, Judit Varga and Hajnalka Juhász) states : they condemn all forms of bullying - regardless of party politics - and sympathize with the victim.
At the same time, the representatives of the ruling party consider it unacceptable that the "Leadership of Jobbik, with Péter Jakab at the head" knew about the case from the beginning, but instead of protecting the victim, it only deals with "how to save the perpetrator from the consequences".
