On Wednesday, the representatives of the socialist faction of the European Parliament voted on their new leaders in a closed session, because it is the custom in the EP to redistribute positions in the middle of the cycle, i.e. every two and a half years, wrote the 444th.

A total of nine deputy faction leaders had to be elected, and for a long time it seemed that there were exactly nine candidates, as is usually the case in the faction. The socialists usually prepare these polls so that by the time a decision has to be made, there will be no discussion or division. The proposal was also made now, when Klára Dobrev signed in as the tenth candidate, and with that, instead of a formal approval, a real vote had to be held.

According to the information of the portal, Gyurcsány received 66 votes, the fewest among the candidates. Croatian Biljana Borzan, who received the second fewest votes after Dobrev, got into the board with 73 votes.
