At the Thursday meeting of the Ferencváros representative body, the majority again "went out" from mayor Krisztina Baranyi, and the representatives who supported her in principle did not vote for the budget amendment either.
Andrea Gyurákovics, the leader of the Fidesz-KDNP faction, told Magyar Hírlap yesterday that the proposal included expenses such as the 77 million HUF (!) café to be established by the municipal asset management company on Bakáts tér, which the Baranyis say is justified by the fact that "there is nowhere to have a drink coffee" - while the area is teeming with restaurants - and the lack of public toilets, which would be remedied with the municipality's cafe-public toilet complex.
The left-wing representatives did not like the idea either, they suggested that the project should be put out to tender instead. But fifty million forints intended to support the "Bakáts Bunker" of the two-tailed dog party deputy mayor Zsuzsanna "Suzi" Döme also appeared among the plans, and although according to Baranyi's right-hand man, the basement space would be a "fantastic exhibition space" with the sum of ten million received last year, due to the rejection of the proposal, for the time being the idea can also remain pending.
Sándor Torzsa, a local socialist representative, spoke about: if what Baranyi claims is true, that the local government is already using up its reserves due to government deductions, then the mandatory tasks should be financed first, then the block rehabilitation could come, and only after that all the other , but without it, it is just a modification without a concept.
