They can elect Viktor Orbán for the fifth time. The Parliament will elect a Prime Minister today.

The deputies can elect Viktor Orbán, the president of Fidesz, the leader of the Fidesz-KDNP list, as the Prime Minister of Hungary for the fifth time on the recommendation of the head of state.

According to the proposed agenda that can be read on the parliament's website, the meeting will begin with speeches before the agenda, and then, according to the plans, it will continue with an hour of immediate questions and answers.

The prime minister election is expected to be held at half past three in the afternoon,

the decision requires the yes vote of more than half of the 199 parliamentarians. The Prime Minister takes office upon his election.

Christmas referendum

After the swearing-in, the Prime Minister delivers a speech in Parliament. President János Áder, who stepped down last week, proposed at the inaugural session of the Parliament on May 2 that the parliament re-elect Viktor Orbán as Prime Minister. After the prime minister election, interpellations and questions are expected to be heard, and then the parliament will conduct the general discussion of the parliamentary resolution proposal on the ordering of two referendums initiated by mayor Gergely Karácsony.

The Párbeszéd politician initiated a referendum on Fudan University and the extension of the job search allowance

back in July last year.
