After 2020, the Sepsi OSK team, founded in 2011, repeated the greatest success in its history and reached the finals of the Romanian Cup 2021-2022. The Saint-Georges team won the final 2-1, thus becoming Romanian Cup winners.
The entrepreneurial team of László Diószegi fought their way up to the first division step by step and achieved significant results there, all while there was no football in Szentgyörgy before that! As a young man, he soon created a bread factory employing two hundred people, mainly from Székely, from the family bakery. Today, he delivers the fresh, special pityóká bread all over Transylvania, and his recipe has even made it to the counters of the Lipóti Pékség store chain in Hungary.
Soccer was his childhood dream, but due to health reasons he could not succeed as a player. So he went to the mayor and bought the old, weed-infested, dilapidated stadium and started to revive soccer. He declared with great faith and enthusiasm: a Hungarian team is also needed in Szentgyörgy. He developed it, went to the sponsors, asked for and received the old rows of seats at Fradi, and more and more people were captivated by his faith.
In 2011, for St. Stephen's Day, he prepared the first 100-kilo giant pityókás, which has since grown to 300 kilos and is kneaded and baked every year together with excellent bakers from the separated parts of the country in a giant oven he dreamed up on the Great Plain, and the "work" is meant to symbolize the unity of the Hungarian nation. ! They also take a large loaf to Cluj-Napoca, Zentá, Komárom and Beregszász!
When the referendum on dual citizenship failed in 2004 due to the betrayal of the Gyurcsánys, he also sat in front of the TV screen in tears. But it wasn't sorrow, but the will to do it that stirred in his heart and he said in a low voice: well, then we'll show you!
Obviously, it wasn't easy. The Romanian authorities did not take kindly to the entrepreneur promoting Hungarianness, and tried to make his job difficult. But he didn't give up, after every failure he got up and continued. Team members, colleagues and friends marched with him. And later, the proud supporters, the city and Hungarian political leaders.
A new stadium was built as a result of the extraordinary collaboration, because according to Diószegi, there is a long-term need for a center, a "sanctuary", where sports lovers can gather week after week, the team can work, and young people can be trained. Today, more than 400 children, mostly from Székely, want to show that they can fight for their dreams!
Accordingly, the U17 and U-19 teams are also performing well, the latter also played in the final for the Romanian Cup.
This is how creation happened in Sepsi.
The cup arrived at Szentgyörgy on Thursday night in the middle of a roaring Székely national anthem and a huge celebration in Bucharest. The whole of Hungary is proud of László Diószegi. He confirmed: it is worth believing, fighting and dreaming, because faith moves mountains! (Our mountains!) Borders from here and beyond!
