Saint Rita is the patron saint of hopeless cases and situations deemed impossible. On May 22, we remember the pearl of Umbria, the heroic woman who can offer advice, example, and guidance to today's people - both women and men - from a perspective of more than 600 years.
He had a hard life. Obedient to her parents' request, she married a godless, violent and insufferable man. His life was terror itself. All she had to ask her husband was that she could go to Holy Mass. She didn't ask for anything more than to be able to make a sacrifice and confess, because her biggest goal was to lead her husband to Christ. He could have wished hell for his terrible behavior, filed the divorce papers, moved home, but he didn't. She felt that she should give her husband a chance to have a better life, so that after his death suffering would not be his part of the class, but the joy of heaven.
By doing hard penance, fasting and praying, Rita also became an example of steadfastness and her life proved that there is a point in fighting - her husband converted.
The hard heart softened, the fire of hatred extinguished in his eyes, and he recognized his wife's charisma and how tenaciously she clings to him. After the realization, the change was spectacular. The whole town was shocked when the prodigal son returned to his father's house.
600 years ago, Rita prayed for a miracle. We are also capable of this! We were also given every opportunity to bring our family problems, tensions, and difficult people to Jesus.
We are all surrounded by so many addicts, broken-hearted, insufferable people, and instead of giving them a helping hand, even we push them. The solution is not to run away from problems, but to join the fight, because I will not give my soul to the Evil One!
If we arm ourselves with the spirit of St. Rita, we can succeed in changing the fateful problems of our nation: addictions, divorces, suicides, childlessness, etc.
Let's get to know the great saint of Central Italy and turn to him with confidence!
