Hungary and the Hungarian people stand by the innocent victims, we only want peace, said Katalin Novák in a video available on her Facebook page from Monday. The President of the Republic's message was delivered during a fundraising program of a Ukrainian TV channel.
On Sunday, a fund-raising program was shown on the only currently operating Ukrainian TV channel. As the President of the Republic of Hungary, Katalin Novák was also invited to speak on the Save Ukraine - StopWar charity television program alongside other heads of state and government, so the leaders of Albania, Latvia, Austria, Slovenia, North Macedonia and Great Britain, among others, interpreted the message of their people to the viewers in a short in the form of a video message. The program also included musical performances.
Katalin Novák in her message : Hungary clearly condemns the Russian aggression and the armed attack on Ukraine, demands an investigation of all war crimes, and asks for appropriate punishment for those who committed these barbaric acts against humanity.
The President of the Republic emphasized: Hungary remains committed to providing safe shelter to the more than seven hundred thousand refugees who arrived here; we continue to care for the wounded, send food to those who stay at home, offer learning opportunities to the children who come to our country, and provide cover, food and work for the families as long as they are needed.
