Viktor Orbán is praised by commentators on the Guardian's YouTube channel

"Finally a leader who puts his country's interests ahead of US foreign policy goals," one commenter noted.

The EU agreement was reached on May 30: Hungary is exempt from the oil embargo.

The staff of The Guardian conducted an interview with Viktor Orbán in Brussels even before the agreement. The Hungarian Prime Minister briefly answered the questions of the press and explained, among other things, that

the irresponsible behavior of the European Commission put the EU in a difficult situation regarding Russian energy.

The head of government emphasized that solutions are needed first, and only then sanctions, so Hungary's energy supply must be solved first, and only then are they willing to support the Russian energy embargo - read the Mandiner article.

Politico also mentioned that the Hungarian Prime Minister's fifty-ninth birthday is on Tuesday.

The video was also uploaded to YouTube by the British liberal newspaper, where

almost all of the commentators began to praise Viktor Orbán for keeping Hungarian interests in mind.

What a clever politician! Too bad he's not the president of the USA! It would benefit all of us!” wrote one commenter.

I love this style, he is not afraid to go against the EU, because he thinks of his own country - remarked another.

One commenter pointed out that

This interview has not received enough attention in the mainstream media! They didn't want people to hear that! Incredible!!
