If someone wishes the death of another person, it is unacceptable, and it cannot be resolved by saying, "I'm sorry, I didn't think so," wrote the Secretary of State for the Development of Bilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on Facebook on Friday. Deputy Foreign Minister Levente Magyar spoke about this in his statement to the Hungarian public media.
Tamás Menczer reacted to the fact that Karl Pachner , one of the heads of the Austrian Public Service Television (ORF), said in a Facebook post that has since been deleted that Viktor Orbán's heart attack would be a "fair thing".
The state secretary wrote: it aggravates the situation if an influential journalist, the director of the Austrian public media, wishes for the death of an elected leader, the Hungarian prime minister. "This is a terrible manifestation in itself and is a slap in the face of the entire country, since the Prime Minister was elected by the Hungarian people," emphasized Tamás Menczer. He added that there are obviously authorities in Austria that supervise the media, and they must also consider what happened to be unacceptable. Act! he called out.
It is unacceptable that the Hungarians, their democratically elected government or its leader are slandered - said the deputy foreign minister on the matter. Due to the incident, Levente Magyar expressed to the charge d'affaires of the Austrian embassy "the Hungarian government's deep shock over the fact that yesterday a senior employee of the Austrian state media service provider addressed the democratically elected Prime Minister of Hungary with words that could be called uniquely rude and scandalous even in the current heightened European political discourse, who, moreover, has the support of the overwhelming majority of Hungarians, so every Hungarian could feel insulted".
This had to be accounted for by the representative of the Austrian government, who, by the way, distanced himself from these words and expressed his intention to cooperate, he added. "Nevertheless, I made it clear that in the future, if these words are spoken, we will not be able to settle them with so much. These words go beyond the norms of civilization that are allowed in Europe even in such a time of war, when otherwise we should devote all our efforts to overcoming the challenges created by the shock waves of war together," explained the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs . He added: "We strive for good relations with Austria, but neither Austria nor any other foreign actor will allow Hungarians, the Hungarians' democratically elected government, and its leader to be vilified."
