"Left-liberal parties have been attacking official price regulation for a long time, and not a single left-wing politician has recently expressed his support for Brussels' energy embargo proposals," wrote Balázs Orbán, political director of the prime minister, in his post on his official social media page.
Balázs Orbán highlighted:
In the case of a left-wing government, we could say goodbye to utility cuts and the gas price freeze, which would place a huge burden on Hungarian households.
The Fidesz politician added that the abolition of official price regulation would "fundamentally threaten the livelihood of Hungarian households", and then highlighted the calculations of Századvég, according to which
the utility costs of an average Hungarian household would increase by no less than HUF 79,000 per month, and the cost of fuel consumption by HUF 21,000.
