This year, a bit late, but they started the flower clock in the main square in Marosvásárhely, on which the name of the city can be seen in Hungarian in addition to the Romanian inscription - Székelyhon.ro reports on the event.
The Marosvásárhely flower hour is usually launched at the end of May, which has become a trademark of the city. The movement was made by a local watchmaker and has been in operation for over sixty years. We understand that it needed repairs this year, which is why the launch of the watch was delayed.
This year, 6,000 annual plants were planted to create the flower clock on the main square. As Dániel Lajos told Székelyhon, decorative nettles, begonias, stone roses and peppery crow's skin were used, among other things.
This year, for the first time, the name of the city appears on the flower clock in two languages, in Hungarian and Romanian. In the past, rights protection organizations have repeatedly stated that it is not appropriate to create the name of Marosvásárhely from flowers only in the Romanian language. Most recently in 2014, the then director said that they didn't have enough flowers to "write" in two languages.
The clock made of flowers will show the exact time until late autumn, and will be a meeting place in Marosvásárhely.
