Two interesting news items appeared on the KárpátHír portal, which are thought-provoking individually, but even more so together.

Almost half of the Ukrainian millionaires have gone abroad , one of the headlines proclaims.

According to 24.kyiv.media, New World Wealth, which tracks the migration of wealthy people, published how many Ukrainian millionaires left the country.

According to the article, there are 2,800 Ukrainian citizens whose assets exceed one million dollars.

This is about 42 percent of the rich in Ukraine. In international comparison, this is among the highest indicators.

Most millionaires move to the Arab Emirates, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Portugal, and Canada. At the same time, the USA and Great Britain have lost their appeal to the wealthy.

The Ukrainian parliament would initiate the cancellation of the entire national debt , says the other banner.

It is an amount equivalent to HUF 21 thousand billion.

The Supreme Council of Ukraine registered a draft law calling on the president and the government to discuss the write-off of the foreign debt. The authors of the draft are various factions, as well as non-party representatives.

They urge the government to immediately negotiate with all foreign creditor partners to write down and review Ukraine's sovereign and state-guaranteed foreign debt.

According to preliminary estimates, the war losses of Ukraine's economy significantly exceed one trillion dollars. According to data published by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the state and state-guaranteed external debt is 1662.69 billion hryvnias (21 thousand billion forints), i.e. 56.83 billion dollars. From April to the end of this year, Ukraine should pay 102 billion hryvnias (1,331 billion forints) in external debt. The public debt takes away most of the available resources, even though the money is needed for the social protection of the tens of millions of affected Ukrainians and the financing of the army in wartime conditions.

Umm…

Are we really the only ones who feel the absurdity of the above?

Or should Western taxpayers - including the Hungarians - fully finance Ukraine's accumulated debts, war and reconstruction, while Ukrainian millionaires and billionaires spend their peaceful everyday lives in a more pleasant and much richer country with the wealth pumped out of their own country?

If the looting and impossibility of the Russian oligarchs (and ordinary people) went smoothly for the moral champion West, it would probably go well with the Ukrainian rich as well. But why the lack of intention?
