According to Fidesz, neither Brussels nor the left are able to understand that in the current situation, affected by wartime inflation and the energy crisis, the failed sanctions policy is not a solution, but only adds to the problem.

István Hollik, Fidesz's communications director, said in a video statement sent to MTI on Thursday: while Europe is increasingly suffering from wartime inflation and the worsening energy crisis, the Brussels and domestic left are coming up with increasingly "incompetent" proposals.

The ruling party politician gave as an example Deputy Mayor Kata Tüttő, who, according to his words, declared that the war could be stopped by a drastic reduction in the population's energy consumption.

István Hollik noted:

Kata Tüttő, "famous for her luxury beach vacations and horse riding", has "one or two hypocritical admonitions" for ordinary households, among other things, to consume less energy, moderate the use of cars and rethink the habits of heating, cooling and cooking at home.

He added: the newly appointed Deputy Mayor Anett Bősz also suggested that people leave the car behind and switch to public transport.

According to István Hollik, the capital's left-wing politicians would also save on district heating, the fuel and electricity consumption of Budapest's public transport, and even public lighting.

He assessed that neither the Brussels nor the Hungarian left can understand that the failed sanctions policy is not the solution, but only adds to the problem.

Only peace can break the inflation of war - stated the politician of the government party, who on behalf of his party told the politicians of the left in Brussels and Hungary that "enough of the crazy ideas".

István Hollik also emphasized that they will not allow the Hungarians to pay the price of the war, they will continue to defend the utility reduction, and they will not allow any sanctions that threaten the Hungarian economy and the livelihood of the Hungarian people.
