In the second half of the year, the government will conclude the partnership agreement with the European Union, thus opening up the possibility to pay EU funds, said the Minister of Regional Development at the press conference following the general assembly of the Association of County Cities (MJVSZ) on Tuesday in Budapest. About ten thousand billion forints of funds will arrive within the framework of the operational programs, and the rural development funds represent another four thousand billion forints, said Tibor Navracsics.
The goal is that the developments planned by the municipalities do not suffer further delays, he added.
The politician stated: the county seats are not only administrative centers, but the economic centers of the given region, thus they play an important regional role in providing employment and public services. Their development determines the standard of living of the entire region, which is why county and district seats are important basic units of regional development.
He reminded that in 2014 the National Assembly adopted the National Development and Territorial Development Concept, which defines the country's development policy goals until 2030.
