You can apply for holiday meals at any time, the support is not tied to time, only to your financial situation, said the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior on the current channel M1.
Bence Rétvári reminded that the government had already increased the number of days that can be claimed for holiday meals from 54 to 70 days. At the same time, the system has also changed, since the family can request this meal, where the income per person (including children) does not reach HUF 172,900 net. That's about 100,000 people.
For those who request this, even during the summer, during the trip - from one week to the next - the opportunity is open, and we have never told any municipality that we will not finance this because there are no resources, said Bence Rétvári .
He also said that in recent years it was also possible to apply for three government grants aimed at renovating municipal kitchens, i.e. for schools, kindergartens, nurseries and social institutions. It was said that since 2015, the kitchens of 480 municipalities have been renewed.
Bence Rétvári emphasized that HUF 600 million were spent in 2010 to ensure that all students had access to healthy food. Now this sum reaches HUF six billion : from this money, around half a million children can get fruit, vegetables, milk and milk products in schools.
