The president of the International Swimming Federation was extremely grateful to Hungary after Budapest and several Hungarian cities hosted one of the biggest sports events in the world after Fukuoka in Japan withdrew, Híradó said.

"Thank you for putting on the best Aquatic World Cup ever. We cannot be grateful enough to Hungary, the Hungarian government, Budapest and the authorities for organizing this event at such a high standard in such a short time.

Thank you for the great amount of work that went into this, as well as the hospitality, as we received a very friendly welcome. We regret that we have to say goodbye to each other now, but the good news is that in five years the World Aquatic Championships will be held in Hungary again," said Huszain Al-Musszalam, president of the International Swimming Federation, at the closing ceremony of the domestic event on Sunday.
