It is crucial to preserve consensus decision-making in the European Union, according to Harald Vilimsky, head of the European Parliament delegation of the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ). He emphasized to Magyar Hírlap that Europe's external borders must be protected, and that Viktor Orbán can lead the new European right wing.
Details from the interview:
- According to a recent survey, 54 percent of Austrians have a negative opinion of Austria's EU membership. What is the reason of this?
"The reason is obvious." We are facing an increasingly ideological EU that cares more about gender ideology or the welfare of illegal immigrants than its own citizens . We also have to face a huge economic and energy crisis, for which the European Union only offers its green propaganda as an alternative, but this does not pay the citizens' bills and does not operate the heating in winter.
– How can Austria protect itself against the negative consequences of Brussels' decisions during the crisis?
- It is extremely important to maintain unanimous decision-making at the level of the European Council, as well as standing up for and cooperating with our neighbors, above all the Hungarians. Especially in these turbulent times, the so-called little ones must band together to stand up to the big ones. This means that we must act accordingly against a possible EU super-state and treat the preservation of the nation-state as a top priority.
- Illegal migration is increasing strongly at the external borders of the EU. Over the weekend, Pakistani and Afghan migrants shot at each other in the Szatka forest, near the Hungarian border. Armed migrant gangs at the EU border - is this the new trend?
– This trend has essentially been going on since 2015. It is Viktor Orbán and Hungary who have been fighting against their culture of welcome, that is, the Willkommenskultur, from the beginning, which is why supporters of the union's centralization are fighting against it. We see very alarming scenes taking place especially in Western Europe: crowds of young men beating each other on the beaches or sexually harassing women. It is unacceptable that native citizens have to suffer in these conditions due to the irresponsible policies of the EU and some Western European governments, mainly left-wing or self-proclaimed civil governments.
– The German left-wing government wants to speed up the integration of rejected asylum seekers. What kind of migration policy should Austria and Germany pursue?
- We finally need a strong "no-way" policy like the one in Australia, with effective border control at the EU's external borders instead of Willkommenskultur. Also, we would finally need to effectively deport illegal migrants instead of the EU protecting them. At the moment, Austria can only help itself if it secures its own borders and if the FPÖ is re-elected.
