The renovated Cholnoky Jenő Children's and Youth Harbor opened on Révfülöp, the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) announced on Sunday.
The communique quotes Balázs Orbán, the chairman of the MCC board of trustees, who said at the opening: a big dream came true with the opening of the camp. The goal of the foundation was to create a place where students from anywhere in the Carpathian Basin can come. They undertook the renovation of the port, camp and surroundings in Révfülöp, which is thus a worthy location for the education and training of MCC students.
Balázs Orbán added: in the person of the geographer Jenő Cholnoky, they found the historical legacy that best expresses the values represented by MCC, the patriotism that defines its educational strategy, and international excellence.
Tibor Navracsics, the region's Fidesz parliamentary representative and Minister of Regional Development, emphasized:
if we want a "quality Hungary", it must start with young people, quality education, and the environment. If a person lives in a quality environment, he can lead such a lifestyle.
The harbor and student camp in Révfülöp also serve this purpose, and in the minister's opinion, with the MCC, Hungary can also be at the forefront of Europe.
Zoltán Szalai, the director general of the MCC, said: so far this year, 300 students have camped in the special center for talent management, and in the summer, the MCC will enable the education and upbringing of almost 500 more young people.
With the renovation of the former state yacht harbor and the student camp located on the north side of the main road, a modern, all-season talent center suitable for housing, educating, training in sports and employing players will be created. The work continues. The Révfülöp complex, which offers camping and summer education opportunities, is free for young people studying in talent development programs, they wrote.
From September, the MCC will continue to nurture talent in 24 settlements in the Carpathian Basin with 5,550 students, it was announced in the announcement.
