According to him, we have now reached the point in the year-long series of negotiations that

we are very close to agreement on a technical level. 

– We are waiting for Brussels to confirm our proposed solutions to the objectionable issues. I trust that this will happen soon, and then we will be able to make significant progress - Tibor Navracsics described the current situation.

The minister said that, from the very beginning, he approached the negotiations with the view that it is not good if only one side wins.

- Compromise works when both parties give in to some extent, which then results in a common good

Tibor Navracsics said that it was not difficult to convince the Prime Minister that the concessions announced a week ago were necessary, within the framework of which the government accepted four recommendations from Brussels.

According to the minister, it was also suggested that Hungary could even join the European Public Prosecutor's Office, and the possibility of this in the future is not excluded either.

The politician explained that there are currently three series of negotiations between our country and the EU, and they also affect each other.

the rule of law procedure, about which the European Commission sent a letter to the government in April, immediately after the parliamentary elections. 

By the deadline of June 27, we sent our several-page response to the comments, the official evaluation is still ongoing. As it is a large material and rather complicated technical issues, it is easy for the European Commission to have follow-up questions.

Another negotiation is related to the partnership cooperation on the multi-annual financial framework plan, which enables the financing of operational programs, here the positions are already very close.

Hopefully, we will be able to sign the agreement in the fall, and the first installments for the financing of the operational programs may even arrive before the end of the year. 

The third negotiation concerns the reconstruction fund and is being conducted somewhat with other negotiating partners, we are making progress here as well. I trust that our response letter regarding the rule of law conditions and our negotiations on the reconstruction fund will have a positive effect on each other, that is, they will see that we really want to reach an agreement - because we really want to reach an agreement - detailed Tibor Navracsics. The minister also predicted the signing of the agreement on the recovery fund for this autumn.

Regarding the role of the Child Protection Act, Navracsics said again that it was not brought up to him, however, the breach of duty procedure obviously informally has something to do with the delay in the agreement, he indicated.

- The fact that the European Parliament - especially its left wing - increased the pressure to an incredible degree so that not only no agreement is reached, but also that no meaningful negotiations with the Hungarian government plays a role in the fact that the negotiations have slowed down
