Hungary can send soldiers to the territory of Subcarpathia to protect the Hungarian population, Ukrainian parliamentarian Maxim Buzsanszki wrote on his Telegram channel, Mandiner reports.
The Russian medium Moszkovskiy Komsomolets writes that Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó previously said that Budapest has scenarios for a military emergency to protect the Transcarpathian Hungarian minority.
According to Buzanszki, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs should demand an explanation about who and how is planning to "rescue one hundred and fifty thousand Ukrainian Hungarians on the territory of Ukraine".
Furthermore, he suggested that Kiev draw Budapest's attention to the inconsistency of Szijjártó's words regarding respect for Ukraine's sovereignty.
The politician believes that this is a direct reference to the events of September 17, 1939, when the Soviet Union informed the Hungarian government that it respected Hungary's borders, and on that day the Soviet army crossed the Polish border.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó gave an interview to Index , which was published on Friday. It reads, among other things:
According to Péter Szijjártó, this is exactly why it is in our interest to have peace in our east as soon as possible, because then we can avoid the dangerous scenarios that have been prepared for what we can do to rescue and protect the 150 thousand Hungarians living in Transcarpathia. If the front is possibly approaching the western half of Ukraine, it represents a much greater security risk in our case than before.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs believes that we continue to pursue a policy so that there is a minimal chance of drifting into war. He said that we have already made enough sanctions decisions, but now the West should focus more on how to achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible and to make peace over time.
Like any country with a war going on in its neighborhood, it must be prepared to defend itself if necessary.
War emergency scenarios have also been prepared in our country, the withdrawal of the Hungarian military from border protection is partly about this.
However, the foreign minister also admitted that it is unlikely that the war in Ukraine would end in a short time.
