A liberal group linked to billionaire György Soros won a $171.7 million (HUF 68.3 billion) government contract from US President Joe Biden's government to help young migrants avoid deportation, Fox News reported . The agreement runs until March 2023, which could provide the organization with up to $983 million (HUF 391 billion) in taxpayer-funded support if the agreement is extended to March 2027.

the American Fox News , Adam Shaw and Joe Schoffstall, reported on Thursday that the Vera Institute of Justice, a liberal non-profit organization financially linked to George Soros, received $171.7 million (approx. HUF 68.3 billion ) signed a taxpayer-funded government contract with the Biden administration that could eventually reach $1 billion to help unaccompanied minors avoid deportation from the United States.

Fox News also highlighted that the agreement runs until March 2023, but the financing of the New York-based organization could reach up to 983 million dollars (approx. HUF 391 billion) if the contract is renewed until March 2027.

The contract appears to be the largest the organization has spent in a single year on migration-related services dating back to the mid-2000s.

The organization has had access to government funds before

The news portal also pointed out that, according to the federal database, the Vera Institute had already received government subsidies.

Between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021, of the organization's $191 million (approx. HUF 75 billion) income, $152 million (approx. HUF 60.5 billion) came from government sources, according to the portal's latest financial audit .

As Breitbart reported in 2018, the institute also received $310 million (approx. HUF 123.33 billion) during the Obama administration to help unaccompanied foreign children avoid deportation.

The left-leaning institute has set a goal of ending "mass incarceration" by reducing the number of US prisons and detention centers. The group also supports ending the funding of the police, the portal added.
