The (Slovak) government sounded the alarm today, but waited until the contamination of the Sajó reached the wells. It took Ján Budaj almost half a year to realize what we have been saying for five months: Sajó is dead, says the statement of the Association.

Now we are saying that instead of declaring a state of emergency, the government should now talk about the revitalization of the dead river , and inform about how much the remediation will cost, when they will see to it, and how the water in the wells will be protected.

The total costs of the disaster response are not known. One thing is certain, we will pay a heavy price for Budaj's inaction.

It's a pity that the Gombaszög Summer Camp was not in March this year. Prime Minister Heger would have faced the consequences of the ecological disaster that befell Sajo 5 months earlier, and thus the Minister of Environmental Protection would have acted 5 months earlier.

The Federation also published a chronological table on the Felvídě portal, listing the steps taken to draw attention to the Sajó disaster.
