In the second half of the '90s, Apostag became a summer meeting place for Christian popular music. He fulfilled a real bridge-building task: he connected non-believers, but well-intentioned people, and Christians in the framework of a pleasant weekend, during which there was beach football, ox roast and potluck, but they always sat together in the beer tent, talking casually with each other. The deep spiritual faith content was combined with the greatest naturalness. On August 13 and 14, 2022, the Ladik Festival will be held again - after a 10-year absence.
Apostasy became an emblematic place of spiritual renewal in the Hungarian church after the system change, experienced as a kind of naturalness. The Ladik music festival provided a cozy setting for Christian youth to have fun and make friends in a Christian way. Meanwhile, the music was playing, which mostly Jesus Christ .
At the Ladik Festival, Hungarian Christian popular music, born in various places and through performers during communism, was given a worthy forum. The old bikers performed on the village stage, but the newly started teams could also show themselves. Over time, beach football and beach atmosphere spiced up the music program with a beer tent and lunch cooked by local farmers in shacks, sometimes with an ox roast.
Of course, the spiritual message was never lost in addition to experiencing good humor. Miklós Beer and Balázs Bábel patronized the event almost from the beginning. And those who took part in the musical events were given the gift of faith that can naturally be experienced in everyday life.
“Our home was permeated with the gospel through music. Maybe not everyone started going to church, but they changed in a positive way from the inside. The cohesion between people and religions became great. Christianity has become acceptable and approachable. In addition, the bands could show what they know. Not everyone had the opportunity to do this. We have created a real Christian light music forum," János Valaczka , the main organizer of the former Ladik Music Festival, told Pengetö
It is inevitable that we will not get into a nostalgic mood when, after a ten-year hiatus, this year again with concerts and performances, and of course with lots of fun and games, the Apostagi organizers "put Ladik back on the water". Among the performers we can choose from the greatest of Hungarian Christian popular music: Jenő Sillye, Zsolt Borka, László Csiszér, Attila Varga. Saturday concerts start at 5:30 p.m. Entry to the event is free. More information can be found on Ladik's website.
