Durable food is collected for people living in Subcarpathia and those fleeing the war there on July 23rd "This is the day!" at a Christian popular music event, announced the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations at the press conference held on Thursday, July 21, in Budapest.

Miklós Soltész, the president of the Charitable Council, said: at the four entrances of the Puskás Arena, which hosts the event, the Catholic Charity, the Hungarian Maltese Charity, the Hungarian Reformed Charity and the Baptist Charity will have a tent each, where visitors can drop off their donations.

The state secretary added that, with the fundraising, Hungary's largest Christian interdenominational event conveys a message of solidarity in addition to creating peace. Miklós Soltész also spoke about how, during the war in Ukraine that started five months ago, the member organizations of the Charitable Council did a lot for the refugees within the framework of the Bridge for Subcarpathian program. He emphasized that, despite wartime inflation and the difficult economic situation, people's solidarity and desire to help did not decrease.

Tamás Győri, "This is the day!" according to the project manager, more than 40,000 people are expected to attend the event, which lasts from early afternoon to late evening. Participants will arrive from all over the country on six special trains and hundreds of buses.

The purpose of the program, first organized in 2000, is for Christians to come together and profess their faith together, regardless of denomination.

Among the performers of the music program are, among others, the first Hungarian Christian band, the Hermons, Molnár Ferenc Caramel, Misi Mező and singer Béla Pintér. Among the international performers, he mentioned Grammy-winning artist Michael W. Smith and the band Bethel Music.
